Located on a fan shaped land on the edge of the Bolgoda lake, this house is perched atop an elevation and takes in views of the lake from multiple sides. The style of the house is distinctly modern with many walls being cast in board formed exposed concrete, whereby the grains of the wooden planks remain cast onto the concrete walls. The textures of the concrete and the elements from the different planks create a purposefully raw yet stylised finish. The house has extensive floor to ceiling glazing with matte black aluminium frames, timber baton ceilings, and white terrazzo floors. Central spaces are lit with circular skylights that double as lights with fibre-glass ring lights on their rims.  

 

The 'Estate Chair' was custom designed for the Bolgoda House using stainless steel rods to form the shape and frame, and leather upholstered cushioning. The Credenzas were designed using coconut wood cut along the grain and fixed in an opposing chevron pattern.

Many of the doors of the house are clad in oxidised copper panels, which were cut and oxidised by Lalin for this very purpose.

The studio office on the roof top sits cantilevered over the central pond and features one of the two circular drum windows. The other opens to the central pond from a guest room. The yellow spiral staircase to the office was designed to act as an ascending library by extending the rear ends of each step.

The Master suite opens fully to an infinity lap pool and deck, a bathroom with a view of the lake, along with an assortment of ancillary rooms, each with it's own view of the gardens and lake below.

The gardens feature a large pool and gazebo, along with a boathouse guest-room over the lake. The house is powered by solar, has a rain water harvesting system, and has it's own roof top edible garden.
